2017 Dom Pérignon Champagne
The 2017 Dom Pérignon Champagne is a fantastic recent release from one of Champagne’s benchmark prestige cuvées, and as always with Dom Pérignon, it is a true vintage wine shaped entirely by the character of a single year. What makes 2017 especially interesting is that it was a challenging growing season with notably small yields, yet the finished wine is already being described by the house as “shaped by contrasts,” balancing the ripeness of the year with the mineral tension that defines the style. The end result is fantastic, and it is one of the best vintages made here in recent memory. Always a great buy, we have excellent pricing today on a limited amount in stock.
Antonio Galloni 97 points! "The 2017 Dom Pérignon is so impressive. A sort of mini-2002, the 2017 is a Champagne of textural richness and resonance above all else. Its creamy, voluptuous contours are so inviting. Production for the 2017 is tiny, about a three-month supply, so this wine will come and go pretty quickly. That represents a fairly dramatic shift in philosophy at Dom Pérignon. In the past, a wine like the 2017 would not have been commerically viable because of its small volume. Today, Chef de Caves Vincent Chaperon prefers to bottle Dom Pérignon in every vintage, if possible, as a document of the year, even if that means some releases will be very small. The 2017 is a wild, exotic Dom Pérignon. I loved it. (Drink between 2026-2042)"
