The 2018 Paul Bara Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé is an excellent grower Champagne from Bouzy, and today we have it in the rare and highly requested half-bottle format! Bouzy is one of the great Pinot Noir villages of Champagne and the historic home of the Bara family. Built primarily from Pinot Noir with a small amount of Chardonnay, and drawn from mature vines on Bouzy’s clay-limestone soils, it has the depth, structure, and authority that make this cuvee so appealing. For anyone looking for serious Champagne in a smaller bottle, whether for a dinner for two, an aperitif, or simply the flexibility of opening something special without pulling a full bottle, this is a particularly smart and highly desirable buy for the category. Vinous (Antonio Galloni) 92 pts! The 2018 Brut Grand Millésime is very fine. Aromatic and light in body, the 2018 is a typical, gracious wine for the year. Dried pear, crushed flowers, chamomile, mint and tangerine oil are nicely lifted in this understated yet classy offering from Bara. Disgorged: February 2024. (Drink between 2024 - 2032)
