2021 Azienda Agricola Valentini Trebbiano d'Abruzzo
It's been far too long since we have been able to offer anything from Valentini, but that ends today with their lovely 2021 Trebbiano. Valentini is one of the key addresses of Abruzzo and a truly legendary name in this part of Italy, a family whose work has done as much as anyone’s to bring serious attention to the region’s wines. Producing only three different cuvées and releasing them only in vintages they deem worthy, Valentini has built an almost unmatched reputation for rigor, individuality, and restraint, and the Trebbiano remains one of the estate’s most compelling signatures. The 2021 Trebbiano d’Abruzzo is a superb example of why this wine has such a devoted following: elusive and subtle at first, yet layered with wild complexity, surprising power, and the kind of tension, purity of fruit, and profound minerality that place it comfortably alongside some of the greatest old-world white wines. While great now, these wines do very well with age, and this is only going to get better with a bit more time in the cellar. We have a limited amount available at this low pricing, and it's not one to miss!
