2023 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir
John Gilman 95 pts! At the time of my visit, the three grand crus in the Michel cellars were also still quite primary and nowhere near as expressive as the vast majority of the premier crus here. The 2023 Vaudésir offers up a bright and nascently complex bouquet of apple, pear, lime blossoms, chalky minerality, citrus peel and a topnote of dried flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and really has stunning depth of fruit at the core, with explosive backend energy and grip, fine balance and a long, minerally and very promising, but still quite primary finish. All this needs is time. (Drink between 2031 - 2070)
Tim Atkin.com (Christy Canterbury MW) 94 pts! "This comes from the "l'envers" or southern side of Vaudésir, with the two parcels averaging 65 years in age. It is open and generous with fresh cream, yellow plums, warm hay and roasted almonds competing to outdo the others. Sea breezes and roaring acidity lighten up the back palate of this tantalizing, reverberating Vaudésir. (2025)"
