2023 Evesham Wood Pinot Noir Cuvée J Eta W/O 4-26-2026

It has been far too long since we have been able to offer the Cuvee J from Eveshamwood, but we are breaking the silence with the fantastic 2023 vintage. The Cuvee J from Evesham Wood is one of the most classic Oregon Pinots made. 2023 is one of, if not the best, examples of the Cuvee J so far, thanks to a fantastic. The Pinot Noir for this cuvee is sourced from the best six barrels of the Le Puits Sec Vineyard in Eola-Amity Hills, 80% planted in 1986 and the remaining in 1991, all on their own rootstalks, giving excellent vine age. It is a densely planted vineyard on Nekia and Jory soils, dry-farmed and organic. The yeast used for fermentation was actually cultivated from an old bottle of Henri Jayer Echezeaux, which is one of the signatures of the Cuvee J (J standing for Jayer) and further plays into the Burgundian inspiration. This wine sees 25% new French oak, with only 147 cases made. 2023 is an outrageously good vintage for this wine. It should be one of the most refined examples yet, showcasing excellent fruit, flowers, spice, game, minerals, and savory notes, with a superb balance of power and elegance. The Cuvee J has been one of our favorite Oregon Pinots for the past decade and is a classic, exceptional example of Oregon Pinot Noir not to be missed this vintage!

Decanter 97 points! "The top six barrels from Le Puits Sec vineyard are selected each year to make this bottling, a dazzling Pinot Noir. Aromas of candied raspberries, round florals and beautiful blood orange freshness. The palate brilliantly balances juicy red strawberries and savoury notes of mint and raspberry leaf, with taut saline minerality that provides a brilliant finish and serious longevity."

A deep, caressing feel, additional layers of velvetiness—these are the calling cards of Cuvée J, its distinct and special signature within our Pinot Noir lineup. Wonderfully age-worthy, the 2023 J is currently in quite a showy place; we find its youthful exuberance thrilling. Those who enjoy the energy of fresh Pinot Noir can share our excitement by opening a bottle now while those who cellar Cuvée J know how magical it will be in 5, 10, 15...years. Only 147 cases made!
