2024 Domaine Henri Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchère
Our first offer of the newly released 2024 Clos de la Mouchere from Henri Boillot, and we have low pricing today on this favorite. Henri Boillot's Clos de la Mouchère is one of the most consistent white wines in Burgundy, and the last several vintages have been stunning examples of this special parcel of the Les Perrières vineyard, which is said to be Henri's favorite. This Cuvee comes from 80+-year-old vines from a parcel within the premier cru vineyard, Les Perriers. Vines are densely planted at 10,000 vines per hectare, naturally limiting yields by forcing them to compete for nutrients, resulting in excellent concentration. The juice is aged in 70% new barrels, with the remaining portion aged in single-use barrels. 2024 Burgundy saw lower yields, with the best whites showing a more old-school profile, with energy and purity, which suit Clos de la Mouchère’s character and mineral drive. Clos de la Mouchère is always one of the top premier crus in any given vintage, and we always give it our highest recommendation. The Clos de la Mouchere clearly shows its pedigree this year and is not one to miss at this low pricing!
Jasper Morris 93-96 pts! Mid yellow. There is a little touch of patisserie on the nose, showing the additional breadth of fruit on Henri Boillot’s favourite vineyard. That’s what gives the gourmandise to the wine, says Henri. This seems to have all the aspects with an excellent mineral backbone holding the fruit together. Lime blossom and acacia he finds, from the adjacent trees which flower at the same time. Very fine long finish.
